Later today, That Kid and I are getting in the van with the Buggy Fam. I seriously hope things start to look up before that happens...
1. I dumped bird seed from That Freaking Bird all over my feet this morning as I was changing his cage. How I acquired That Freaking Bird is a totally different story. I don't have much love for this bird to begin...in case it's not obvious. But That Kid thinks the bird is fabulous, so he'll stay around a while longer. Anyone know how long a parakeet lives?? Let me know.
2. I sliced my pinkie open while I was shaving! Aren't I lucky? I don't know how I sliced my PINKIE open while shaving my LEGS, but I did it. And of course the only bandages we have are camo (this is what happens when you live in a house with two boys! Hello Kitty bandages are no longer welcome) and before the Buggy Fam and I leave I have to direct the church ensemble (10 people is *not* a choir!!). I was freaking out because camo does *not* go with my lovely outfit but then I realized, it's CAMO, you can't see it!!! WHEW!
OK...That Kid is eating my breakfast burger (we had burgers for dinner last night, and I'm eating another one for breakfast...it's a breakfast burger!)...I better put the smack down on him and eat my breakfast. PLEASE PRAY FOR US...It's going to be a long couple of days!!
Hey...I'm coming back. It's gotten worse. That Kid took off his diaper, and peed. All over my carpet. SERIOUSLY! This day is just getting worse...

Getting ready for vacation!
On Sunday, That Kid and I are leaving That Dad for two weeks. We're getting in a van with my friend Buggy Mama, her husband Buggy Dad, and the three Buggy kids and will be driving to Northern California to visit our families (Buggy Mama's parents and brothers, and my parents and brother live in the same town). The plan is for us to be there on Monday. That's one day.
Three adults, four kids ages 7, 4, 2, and 1...and 1 mini van. Pray for us. It's going to be exciting. That's what Buggy Mama and I keep telling ourselves!
While I'm gone I'll check in, and entertain you with blogworthy events such as "Things you only hear at That Mama's parents house" and our trip to the zoo, and of course the jump party we're having with The Nieces! I'm also thinking about taking That Kid to see some dinosaurs. We'll see if we have time. Our trips to see Those Grandparents always seem to go too quick, even if we plan nothing!

While he doesn't speak much, he is still quite brilliant!!
Today, That Kid was sitting on Dad's lap watching Wall-E on the computer. He was commenting on various things, "Moon!" "Star!" and of course we were telling him what a great job he was doing.
Then I saw the sun and I said, "SUN!" He turned around, looked at me and said, "Mama?"
I love that he thought I was talking to him, and think he's quite brilliant. More brilliant than Edward Cullen in the sun.

Sad and shocking...
As I write this, most of you have already heard that Michael Jackson has died at the age of 50.
I remember when I was in the 1st grade, my Mama and Daddy bought me a BEAT IT night gown for Christmas. I was so awesome in that night gown. It was pink, and said BEAT IT in gold cursive glitter across the front.
I also remember when he was burned while filming the Pepsi commercial, and I remember the irreverent version of the Pledge of Allegiance I recited to my Pastor's wife when I was 7 that made reference to his getting burned.
This just shows how you never know what's going to happen when you wake up. Michael Jackson probably never thought he'd end up dead by lunch when he woke up this morning. Hug your loved ones tight, and make sure your life is right with God...you never know if you're going to have to be turned away from the pearly gates because you didn't think your time was up yet.

Taking a bath alone v. Taking a bath with That Kid...
Taking a bath alone
1. You get to soak in the tub for as long as you want, reading.
2. Your bubbles aren't from a Thomas the Tank Engine bottle.
3. You can stretch out...well, as much as you can stretch out in a teeny tiny tub, anyway!
4. It's peaceful.
Taking a bath with That Kid
1. You get peed on.
2. That Kid screams, and screams, and screams. And screams. You're surprised the neighbors didn't come over to check on you.
3. You get tiny cups of water dumped on your head, but if you try to dump water on That Kid's head he cries.
4. But the best thing about taking a bath with That Kid...after he's done he gets out of the tub and feeds you Cheerios, and kisses you after each one.

So I'll have one more post, one from the past...not for the weak
So...today. Today was...interesting. Today I was trying to get ready to meet the other girls from my Moms group for lunch at Chick-fil-a. Have I spoken about my love for Chick-fil-a? No? Well, let's just sum it up like this...I like Chick-fil-a. I even took a job application from Chick-fil-a today. Anyway...That Kid and I are getting ready. I'm dressed and have my make-up on, and I need to get That Kid dressed. I chase him around the bedroom for a while, and finally get him on his way to the living room. Where I discover a huge pile of dog puke. I call That Dad, and told him he could either change That Kid, or clean up puke. He actually took door number 2, saying that I was much better at changing That Kid. I wish he'd taken door number 1. Really, I do.Upon taking off That Kid's PJs, I discovered that his diaper had fallen off. No biggie, usually. But not this time. This time he had pooped. And I was wishing I could be cleaning up dog puke. Cleaning up dog puke is so much nicer than trying to scrub poop off your wiggling child. At least dog puke doesn't wiggle (generally)! That Dad, being the great daddy he is, came over to assist with the clean up. He held a bag for me to toss wipes in while making comments like, "If Johnny Knoxville were standing by the door, I'd think we were on WILDBOYZ!" But no, Johnny Knoxville wasn't standing by the door. It was just us. In our stinky living room.I got That kid's PJs totally off, and well, it wasn't pretty. His socks were ruined. He didn't want to let me clean him up. As I'm trying to clean him up, he's screaming and yelling. And kicking. And I was dodging poopy legs trying to hit me. Finally, the poopster was clean. He got his pants and shirt on, and while I was searching for his socks (which had gotten lost in the whole Poopfest '09), he jumped down to "help" That Dad pick up his poopy jammies. That Kid's, not That Dad's. ;) He found something on the floor and tried to eat it. I'll leave you with That Dad's words of advice to That Kid..."Dude, that might of come out of your @$$. Things that come out of your @$$ do NOT go in your mouth!"
