It's as if he knew I wrote about That Special Friend being gone!!
Today at lunch time, That Kid announced since That Special Friend wasn't at school all week last week, she was therefore on Santa's naughty list. We know what he thinks about her being gone now, don't we??
That Special Friend was gone last week
All last week, That Special Friend was gone from school. And That Kid was amazingly sad. He would sit on the rug calling her name, and sounding so pathetic. On Wednesday, That Back-up Special Friend sat there holding his hand saying, "She's not coming today. It's OK though, I'm here!" I was working in his class that day and got to witness the whole thing. That Kid reluctantly allowed That Back-up Special Friend to comfort him while crying for That Special Friend. Good thing That Back-up Special Friend is older (she's FIVE), and wiser.
I just know that first day back from break is going to be in-sane. That Kid is going to hug and squeeze That Special Friend and never let her go. And that won't be creepy at all. :)

We'll never be able to say this again...
That Kid is an Angel. Or he was, anyway!
A couple of weeks ago, we were informed that the preschoolers would be angels in the Christmas pageant. There were two performances; and since That Dad had to work today, he got to see That Kid perform last night.
That Kid did great!! He stood still, and wasn't silly, and just stood there staring at the Baby Jesus (OK...it was a doll, but he loves all things Baby and thought Baby Jesus was just sweet as could be!). Today I had a different view, and there was a dog dressed as a sheep; and That Kid just adored the "sheepdog". During the curtain call he laid on the stage loving on the dog. It.was.adorable. And sadly the picture I got of it was blocked and I didn't realize it until I got home. :( Hopefully someone else got that shot!!

That Mack Daddy
We are in trouble. Lots and lots of trouble. That Kid is a ladies man. Thursday night, That Dad and That Kid came to church to watch the choir dress rehearsal since That Dad won't be able to come to church Sunday. When we got there, there were some "older girls" (Kindergarten and first grade) who started playing with That Kid. They told That Dad, "We let him kiss us!" And kiss them he does. A lot. ROFL
Then, there are the little girls at school. He has a "special friend" who he would like to get a Christmas gift for. I was thinking we'd get her a set of My Little Ponies that I saw at the Big store with Lots of stuff. That Kid has it in his head that he wants to get her a "neckwes".
That Kid and That Special Friend crack me up. When they sit by each other in circle time they hold hands, and That Special Friend gets a kiss every day when they leave school. It's adorable!! AND, That Special Friend tells That Kid things like, "You are going to come play with me in the blue center today!" when they're deciding what to do at center time. Then they go play house. LOL
But, yesterday, That Special Friend got super jealous when another little girl came up and said, "That Kid!! Come read this book with me!" then grabbed his hand and took him over to sit at the table in the same chair as she was sitting. LOL Upon meeting That Kid, the little girl's adult (there are four or five people who drop her off...I don't know who her parents are...) said, "Oh....YOU'RE That Kid!" Oddly enough, that's the same thing That Special Friend's parents said. LOL
Someone (I'm assuming the teachers!!) has told That Kid not to kiss on the lips. He refused to kiss *me* on the lips for about a week, until I told him it was OK to kiss Mama on the lips. When I asked him if his teachers told him not to kiss on the lips he said, "Nooooooooooooooooooooo! We don't kiss on the lips!" That's right...you don't kiss on the lips. Especially not your special friends at school and church! ;) I'm not ready for this yet...I thought I had a few more years before he was going to get girlfriends! LOL

That Kid and my All Day Sickness
I am a sick Mama. I can't eat without getting sick. I'm nauseous almost all day long. It sucks.
And That Kid isn't very understanding. If he's in the bathroom when I get sick he says, "Not again, Mama! That yuuuuuuuuucky!" and yes, it is yucky. When I told him it's That Baby making me sick, he says That Baby is bad. And when I told him that when *he* lived in my tummy *he* made me sick he said, "No, I no make Mama sick!" If only he could remember...
But, a few days ago I discovered he paid a little too much attention when I get sick. That Dad told me Sunday evening while I was at Church, That Kid ate his dinner then pulled a chair over to the kitchen sink where he proceeded to pretend to get "sick like Mama".
I just hope that this ends soon. I would like to enjoy Christmas Eve dinner...it's one of the meals I look forward to all year long!! :)
